Lakers guard Dennis Schroder is expected to play vs. the Timberwolves

The Los Angeles Lakers will have the opportunity to clinch a spot in the NBA playoffs for the first time in two years when they take on the Minnesota Timberwolves in the play-in tournament on Tuesday.

Not only have the Lakers looked reborn over the last two months, but they also have been getting healthier in recent weeks.

LeBron James returned sooner than expected from a right foot tendon injury on March 26, while backup center Mo Bamba came back from a sprained ankle to appear in their final two regular-season games.

In addition, reserve guard Dennis Schroder, who sat out of those last two contests due to neck and Achilles soreness, is expected to be available on Tuesday.

In L.A.’s last contest against Minnesota on March 31, Schroder’s defense and hustle sparked a third-quarter sprint in which the team scored fast-break buckets in bunches and took full control. He will certainly come in handy against a team that fields Mike Conley and Anthony Edwards as its starting backcourt.
