Every year, once free agent signings and trades have been made and teams’ rosters have more or less taken full shape, the NBA releases each team’s schedule for the upcoming schedule.
This summer, that day came on Thursday.
The Los Angeles Lakers are hoping to somehow, someway become championship contenders again as the sands of time start to run out on LeBron James’ career. Now they know what their schedule looks like and how they must traverse it once the regular season starts.
In addition to their opening night game against the Minnesota Timberwolves and their Christmas Day matchup versus the Golden State Warriors, there are a few other games of note for Los Angeles.

The first few weeks of the season will be a bit challenging. In their second game, the Lakers will host the Phoenix Suns, and the following evening, they will take on the Sacramento Kings, who have added six-time All-Star DeMar DeRozan.
They will then begin a five-game road trip which starts with a content against the Suns.
The Lakers’ first shot at the Denver Nuggets, the team that has knocked them out of the playoffs in both of the last two seasons, will be on Nov. 23. Their annual tussles with the Boston Celtics will be on Jan. 23 at home and on March 8 in Beantown.
