For a third season in a row, the Los Angeles Lakers haven’t been able to catch a break when it comes to injuries.
In December, Anthony Davis suffered a stress injury in his right foot and was forced to sit out for over a month. The injury had a ripple effect; it caused LeBron James to take on a heavier workload and play heavy minutes.
James later suffer ailments in both of his feet. He is out with a tendon injury in his right foot. He is expected to be out until at least late March.
Now, backup center Mo Bamba, who was acquired in a trade about a month ago, will miss at least four weeks with a high ankle sprain he sustained in Sunday’s win over the Golden State Warriors.
Medical update from the team:
“Mo Bamba has been evaluated by Lakers team doctors and has been diagnosed with a high left ankle sprain. He will be re-evaluated in approximately four weeks.”

Bamba’s ability to block shots, secure rebounds and hit 3-pointers will be missed.
In his absence, the Lakers will have to go small whenever Davis isn’t on the floor, unless they end up picking up another true center.
