Lakelands Retail and Leisure Park: What’s confirmed for the new Enniskillen development

The new Lakelands Retail and Leisure Park in Enniskillen moved one step closer to reality this week after the Department for Infrastructure said it would not be holding up objections to the development.

The new retail park to be built on the former Unipork site has divided opinion among some in the town, with planning approval granted by a narrow vote at Fermanagh and Omagh District Council.

But now, despite objections, the project looks like it will be given the green light and the development is set to house six retail units, a hotel, restaurants and many other amenities.

Elm Grange, the developers behind the retail park, say it will create 350 full-tie and part-time jobs, as well as 150 construction jobs during the building phase.

A small number of outlets have been confirmed as tenants for the retail park so far - here’s what we know is confirmed.

Brunswick Movie Bowl

One of the first confirmed tenants of the Cornagrade Road site is Brunswick Movie Bowl, which currently operates a cinema, ten-pin bowling alley and restaurants in Derry.

The new entertainment business will take up an 896 square metre site on the development, and is likely to prove popular for family days out in Co Fermanagh .

The Range

The arrival of The Range to Northern Ireland in recent years has caused a frenzy among shoppers across the region.

The retailer offers everything from food to garden supplies and furniture , and is due to take up the largest site on the development at over 3000 square metres.

Tim Horton’s

Another new arrival to the the food and drink scene in Northern Ireland, Canadian coffee brand Tim Horton’s has been making waves with a number of ew openings in recent months.

Offering both drive-thru and sit-in options, the chain is popular for its coffee and sweet treats, as well as offering hot food.

While those are the only brands confirmed as tenants for the Lakelands retail park, there are details available from the developers for the remaining sites, many of which are currently under offer.

Here’s what else is set to appear at the new retail park after construction:

  • 54 bedroom hotel

  • 5 retail units including two garden centres

  • 1 indoor adventure playground

  • Coffee pod

  • 12 bay self service filling station
