Lake District beauty spot criticised for 'too much water' and 'not enough free Wi-Fi' in bizarre review

With summer finally here many of us will be thinking of a trip up to the Lakes to take in the gorgeous scenery. But for one person, this was the last thing they wanted.

Thousands will be flocking to the likes of Grasmere, Windermere and Ambleside this time of year on the search for hikes or for tea rooms to take in the views. Another very popular destination is Keswick,. a town where you're likely to see lots of people walking towards Derwentwater, either as part of a larger walk around the lake or even just to relax a little.

The beauty spot boasts five star reviews on TripAdvisor, surely making it a safe-bet for a nice day out. However, one reviewer apparently did not think it lived up to much.

Jim Jones left a review in July last year that said: "There was too much water for my liking not enough free Wi-fi. Thought the place was a bit boring too many ducks."

However, among the reviews left on TripAdvisor, it seems he's the only person that shares this opinion, with lots of others leaving four and five-star reviews. PeteLucy434 said: "One of my favourite lakes in the whole national park and has the added benefit of being able to be walked around."

Wendygillw added: "We were staying in Keswick and had a delightful walk beside Derwentwater easily straight from the town. It is stunning and also a peaceful walk."

Phil M left the review: "A lovely place to hang out and people-watch or do water borne activities - picturesque in the extreme."
