Following its 50th-anniversary celebrations, 'Saturday Night Live' has revealed its upcoming lineup of hosts and musical guests. Lady Gaga is set to make a return to the iconic show, this time pulling double duty as both host and musical guest. Additionally, Shane Gillis will be hosting an episode alongside musical guest Tate McRae.
On March 1, Shane Gillis will be hosting 'SNL' for the second time, accompanied by Tate McRae, who is gearing up to release her third album titled 'So Close to What' in late February. The following week, on March 8, Lady Gaga will be gracing the 'SNL' stage as both host and musical guest for the second time and fifth time, respectively. Her latest album, 'Mayhem,' is scheduled to be released the day before her appearance.
Shane Gillis has had a controversial history with the show, having been fired as a cast member in 2019 before officially making his debut. This decision came after backlash over a 2018 podcast clip where he used an anti-Asian slur and mocked accents. Gillis later apologized, stating that he is a comedian who pushes boundaries. Despite the setback, he has gone on to star in and co-create the series 'Tires,' which is set to return for its second season on Netflix.

'SNL' recently celebrated its 50th anniversary with a star-studded event that garnered significant viewership. The anniversary special became NBC's most-watched prime-time entertainment telecast in five years, attracting nearly 15 million viewers. The 3½-hour extravaganza featured comedy sketches, musical performances, and unexpected cameos, making it the network's highest-rated night-time entertainment show since the 2020 Golden Globes.
The celebratory weekend kicked off with 'SNL50: The Homecoming Concert,' where Lady Gaga delivered standout performances, including a medley with Andy Samberg and a rendition of 'Shallow.' The show continues to captivate audiences and remains a cultural touchstone in the world of comedy and entertainment.
