Lady Gaga fans were divided thanks to the star's performance the the 94th Academy Awards over in America on Sunday night - which very almost didn't happen!
The star - who missed out on the Best Original Song award - took to the stage at the Dolby Theatre to give a stripped-back performance of her Oscar-nominated song Hold My Hand from the Top Gun: Maverick soundtrack.
"It's deeply personal for me and I think that we all need each other, we need a lot of love to walk through this life," the singer, 36, told the star-studded crowd before belting out her hit song.
"And we all need a hero sometimes, there's heroes all around us. In unassuming places, but you might find that you can be your own hero, even if you feel broken inside," she went on to add.
Despite walking the champagne carpet in a stunning black Versace gown, the Poker Face singer performed her hit song in simple black t-shirt and ripped jeans.
Viewers watching at home had mixed opinions on the subtle rendition from the star, who stripped off all her makeup before taking to the stage.
On Twitter user gushed: "everyone expected a big production but lady gaga has once again prove that all she need is her talent to stand out. all the glam being stripped away just an intimate performance with her voice #Oscars."
Another agreed, adding: "lady gaga giving full open mic energy at the oscars like you don't understand i'm obsessed."
But some fans weren't that impressed.
"Lady Gaga, I like you, but...this song is boring. #Oscars," one viewer moaned on Twitter, as another asked: "Oh, I hadn't heard this Top Gun song. It's so boring. Is Lady Gaga okay??"
The performance that divided fans online almost didn't happen on Sunday night, with it previously reported Lady Gaga had 'annoyed Oscar bosses by turning down the chance to sing at this year's Oscars.
As recently as last week, it still wasn't confirmed if the star would grace the Oscars with her presence - with bosses said to be annoyed and disappointed by the uncertainty from the Oscar-winner.
"There were lots of discussions between our camp and hers, but it was pretty late in the game that she decided it was a ‘no’, saying she wouldn’t be able to do it justice," an insider told the Mirror last week.
"She is very famously a perfectionist when it comes to her performances, but it still did not go down well with the bosses."
But it appeared Lady Gaga had a last minute change of heart and joined the likes of Rihanna in performing her Oscar-nominated tune on Sunday night.
