Lady Gabriella Windsor's wedding dress revealed in detail at Paris Couture Week

Lady Gabriella Windsor married financier Thomas Kingston in a fairytale wedding in May, sweeping down the grand chapel staircase in a pristine Luisa Beccaria gown.

In a new interview with Hello!, Gabriella has revealed that her parents - Prince and Princess Michael of Kent - saw the dress for the very first time on the wedding day and that she nearly had a wardrobe malfunction during the ceremony.

Gabriella’s sweeping tulle gown, which is made “entirely in Valencienne écru lace layered with ribbons of flowers and buds” according to Beccaria’s Instagram - went on display at Paris Couture Week as part of the brand's show.

One detail which isn’t totally apparent from Gabriella’s official wedding photographs is the shades of blush on her long train, which “Lady Gabriella Windsor dreamed of having” according to Beccaria.

Gabriella told Hello! that the dress was “wonderful” and, after she was reunited with the gown at Couture Week, said, “This is the first time I've seen it since the wedding and it brings back so many happy memories.”

On her big day, Gabriella paired the gown with the London Fringe Tiara. As with Priyanka Chopra and Meghan Markle, Gabriella chose to pin a super veil to it - however some unruly bridesmaids nearly caused an accident as a result.

She explained, “Suddenly I could feel my tiara start to pull back and in those few unnerving moments I thought it would come crashing down with an almighty clunk. My little bridesmaids had accidentally wandered on to my very sheer tulle 20ft veil. I slowed down until they’d stepped off it, but then it happened again. Fortunately my hairdresser had pinned the tiara in place and it stood firm.”

The brand shared the initial sketch of the dress on Instagram, explaining that the plan had been to create a “traditional dress” that was “light and comfortable to wear”.

On her personal Instagram account the designer wrote, "You are a special girl. I love your freshness, your free soul, your beauty ! Wishing you and Tom all the best you deserve! Lucilla and I enjoyed being on your side that special day! Thanks to your preference, we are the first Italian dressing a royal wedding!"

Beccaria (who was introduced to Gabriella by her parents) designed three more dresses for her to wear on her wedding day: a sleeveless tulle piece for her reception, another for her post-reception walk out and one for brunch the next morning.

Since her wedding Gabriella has also chosen to wear the designer to Royal Ascot (above). Wearing a variation on the brand’s Stripes dress, she posed alongside her new husband Thomas Kingston, who matched her look with a deep pink tie.
