Lady Bay takeaway closure 'not a big deal' as residents share what they want instead

Residents in Lady Bay have given suggestions of what they would like to see replace closed down takeaway Cheff. A restaurant supplying fresh and healthy meals has closed and is looking for a new leaseholder.

Locals have suggested a wide range of different businesses they would want to see on their high street on Trent Boulevard. Rita Howitt, 75, from Lady Bay said: "A lot of shops shut on here, it is not a big deal that one has closed."

She added: "It is a shame they never last. They seem to be shutting down. I would like to see a ladies clothes shop. You have to go into town. There is nothing like that around here and it would be used by people like me."

David from Lady Bay said: "I would like to see a green grocers or a butchers. I didn't use that takeaway. Local shops are needed, I used to use Price Wise but that has gone too. I now use the Co-Op."

John Heap, 78, who lives in the area said: "What would be useful? We have got that [Co-Op] for competition for everything. You have to have some thing that is different. What do we need?"

Sophia Hill from Lady Bay added: "That's difficult question. We have got a burger place going over there so I would like to see a health shop."
