Lads travel 220 miles to get their hands on Prime energy drink at 10 times retail price

It's the sell out beverage which has seen people go to extraordinary lengths to get their hands on - and these three lads were no exception.

The pair travelled more than 200 miles crossing country borders to get hold of a bottle of Prime energy drink from a shop selling it for ten times the supermarket price.

The drink, promoted by YouTubers KSI and Logan Paul, has had fans in a frenzy queuing for long hours in supermarkets and scrabbling for the last bottle.

So popular has the drink been, some retailers have been seen hiking the price to the £10 mark while one entrepreneurial youngster even began re-selling bottles on eBay.

And these two young men from Scotland were also not ones to miss out on the latest trend sweeping the nation, driving for hours from Edinburgh to a shop in West Yorkshire to quench their thirsts.

Wakefield Wines - more popularly known as Wakey Wines - has already seen youngsters travelling from afar to get hold of bottles of Prime where it's being sold for a staggering £20 - a 1000% mark up from the cost in Asda where it's now sold out.

The business posted a clip on its social media account over the weekend showing the business owner pose with the two Scots who had made the four hour, 225 mile journey.

Chatting to the pair, shop owners were stunned to find they had trekked from north of the border and shared the clip to their TikTok account.

The viral craze for the beverage has also seen chaos breaking out in some supermarkets as crowds pushed to get hold of a bottle.

Some Aldi stores came under siege over the New Year weekend as it released the drink ahead of everywhere else, with images showing fans queue in the dark and jump over one another once inside the store as they battled for a bottle.
