Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has told his MPs to back the government's move for a General Election in December.
This means the numbers are now there in Parliament for a national vote to definitely take place in the final month of the year.
In a statement to the Shadow Cabinet today, Mr Corbyn said: "I have consistently said that we are ready for an election and our support is subject to a No Deal Brexit being off the table.
"We have now heard from the EU that the extension of Article 50 to January 31 has been confirmed, so for the next three months, our condition of taking No Deal off the table has been met.
"We will now launch the most ambitious and radical campaign for real change our country has ever seen."
The vote on when a General Election could be will take place in the House of Commons this evening.
It is not clear at this stage what date in December Labour will back - with the 9th, 11th and 12th all mentioned.
More to follow.
