Search and rescue teams in Altadena have completed approximately 78% of the necessary searches, covering an estimated 5,516 properties, according to LA County Sheriff Robert G. Luna. The sheriff mentioned on Wednesday that he is optimistic that the remaining searches will be finished by the end of the day or possibly by tomorrow. These search and rescue efforts initially began in the Palisades area on Tuesday.
As of the latest update, no additional fatalities have been reported in the search area since Tuesday. However, the overall death toll related to the fires stands at a tragic 25. Of these fatalities, 17 have been linked to the Eaton Fire, while the remaining eight are connected to the Palisades Fire, as confirmed by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.
