It appears the trade chatter surrounding a potential reunion for Kyrie Irving and LeBron James will live on for at least one more season. When discussing potential trade targets for the Lakers, Irving wasn’t the primary focus, but he was the first name mentioned by The Athletic’s Jovan Buha.

Irving, who played with James on the Cavaliers, was linked to the Lakers as a potential trade target throughout much of the 2022 NBA offseason and up to the trade deadline as well.

Buha’s point on the likely lack of Irving trade interest from the Mavs makes sense though, as Dallas currently boasts a 9–3 record to start the new season.
