Kyrie Irving compliments LeBron James for his longevity

Several years ago, LeBron James and Kyrie Irving teamed up to bring the Cleveland Cavaliers their first NBA championship in 2016.

The two reportedly had something of a falling out, especially after Irving demanded a trade in 2017 and left the Cavs a year ahead of James’ own departure.

But the two have apparently patched things up. In fact, James was reportedly pushing hard behind the scenes for the Los Angeles Lakers to swing a trade for the talented but enigmatic guard last summer.

James sat out Monday’s game between the Lakers and Irving’s Brooklyn Nets, which the Nets won rather easily, but it didn’t prevent the latter from praising the former.

James is averaging 30.2 points on 50.7 percent shooting, 8.5 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game this season for the 23-28 Lakers. He is 116 points away from surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, and it looks like he will do so sometime next week.
