Kyren Williams made Rams history with 2nd straight 2-TD game

Some of the best players in NFL history have worn the horns as members of the Rams, including Hall of Famers Eric Dickerson, Marshall Faulk, Isaac Bruce and Elroy Hirsch. Even Cooper Kupp, Steven Jackson and Todd Gurley rank among the best offensive players of their eras.

But no Rams player had ever accomplished what Kyren Williams did to start this season. According to NFL.com, Williams is the first Rams player ever to score multiple touchdowns in each of his first two games of a season. Williams scored two rushing touchdowns in Week 1 against the Seahawks and another two touchdowns in Week 2 against the 49ers, one of which was a reception.

Williams is entrenched as the starting running back now with Cam Akers on his way out, and he’s taken full advantage. He had 100 total yards on 20 touches Sunday, including those two touchdowns.

While Williams is undersized, he runs hard and he’s a very capable receiver, even if one throw did go through his hands for an interception on Sunday. Unless the Rams make an addition at running back, Williams will remain their workhorse for the foreseeable future.
