Kyogo wants to improve Celtic conversion rate even after netting pre-season hat-trick

Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi netted a hat-trick in the club's 6-4 friendly win over Queen's Park on Wednesday, but the prolific Japanese forward was not entirely satisfied with his performance.

"I had a lot of chances to score. I still need to improve on that," Furuhashi said after the match.

Despite his three-goal haul, which added to a penalty conversion against Ayr United a few day’s earlier, the 28-year-old believes there is still room for improvement ahead of the new season.

The impressive display from Furuhashi will no doubt excite Celtic fans, who will be hoping the front-man can carry his pre-season form into the upcoming campaign.

Although, his self-critical assessment suggests the player is eager to fine-tune his game even further before the real action gets underway.

"There's still enough time before the season starts”,  the former Vissel Kobe star continued.

“So I would like to improve my conditions and keep working hard."

Celtic travel to the United States later this month to continue their pre-season preparations as they aim to build on their Double-winning domestic campaign from last time out.

The Scottish Premiership title holders will face off against some stiff competition in the form of English Premier League champions, Manchester City, in between going head-to-head with DC United and Chelsea.

Kyogo acknowledged that there's still some fine-tuning to be done before they compete in three "exciting" exhibition matches across the Atlantic.

"We are very excited, and I hope all the fans are excited as well as us," he admitted.

"So since we will be heading to the United States soon, I am hoping to make thorough preparations to have a great match."
