Kyogo thanks Celtic fans who 'rooted for me' during injury woes as star posts emotional message

Kyogo Furuhashi has thanked the Celtic support for their belief in him during his injury lay-off.

The Japanese striker was greeted with a loud reception as he replaced Jota after 74 minutes in Celtic's 7-0 rout of relegation threatened St Johnstone.

Kyogo picked up a hamstring injury in late December that eventually ruled him out for more than three months.

He wrote via his Instagram and Twitter accounts: "Very happy to play again and to help the team. What a win! Thanks to everyone who rooted for me during this time", which was accompanied by a praying hands emoji and a green clover.

Kyogo made an immediate impact in the match by playing a pinpoint ball to Daizen Maeda to set up Liel Abada to score Celtic's seventh goal.

The result put his side nine points clear in the Premiership title race.

Next up for Kyogo and Co is a huge Scottish Cup semi-final against Rangers.

But Ange Postecoglou has confirmed Kyogo won't start, even if Giorgos Giakoumakis doesn't make it after he limped off with a hamstring injury against Callum Davidson's side.
