Kyogo pens thank you message to Celtic fans in emotional goodbye

Kyogo has bid an emotional farewell to Celtic - writing a thank you note to fans for their 'unconditional support' during his time in Scotland.

The Japanese striker arrived in the summer of 2021 from out of the blue, as former club Vissel Kobe essentially announced his transfer to the Scottish Premiership champions during the middle of the night.

He went on to become a firm fans' favourite in the eyes of the Celtic faithful, scoring a sensational 85 goals in 165 appearances.

Yesterday, his move to Ligue 1 side Rennes was made official, with Jota moving in the opposite direction to Glasgow.

After three-and-a-half years, it was always going to be tough for both Kyogo and the Celtic fans to see him move on.

But the 30-year-old has thanked supporters for their constant backing throughout his time in green and white.

He posted on social media: "Dear Celtic Fans, I would like to thank each and every one of you for your unconditional support since I arrived in Scotland in 2021.

"In every training session and every match I tried with all my efforts to help this great club, and I hope that I helped create amazing memories for you as our team enjoyed great success together.

"I will never forget the Championships, the Old Firm victories or playing at Celtic Park on Champions League nights, and I wish Celtic only the best as I start a new chapter in my career.

"From the bottom of my heart, thank you again for your support."

In a further message posted on Celtic's official account, Kyogo added: "Over the past three and a half years, I have been truly grateful for your wonderful support and cheering. From the moment I joined until my final day, I've been happy every step of the way.

"Being able to enjoy so many wonderful moments and achievements with all of you made me feel like the happiest player in the world countless times. I believe these invaluable experiences were only possible because I came to Celtic.

"Even as the time goes on, I am deeply moved and encouraged by the many warm messages and kind words I continue to receive, and I cannot thank you enough. I move forward bet but I will keep all of you in my heart and continue on my journey.

"Lastly, I am very sorry that I couldn't say goodbye to you all, but I will give my best in my new chapter.

"I'm confident that my wonderful Celtic teammates, along with the manager and his backroom team will continue to create new and exciting moments for the rest of the season.

"Please continue to show your amazing support for Celtic, just as you always have."
