Kyogo hands Celtic major Champions League boost as star trains ahead of Real Madrid showdown but defender misses out

Celtic talisman Kyogo looks set to be fit for the Champions League showdown against Real Madrid after the Japanese star took part in training ahead of the holders visit to Parkhead for the Group F opener. The 27-year-old was forced off early in the Hoops’ 4-0 thrashing of rivals Rangers in the weekend derby. He was also captured falling as he emerged at full time during the post-match on-pitch celebrations.

But Kyogo was at the club’s Lennoxtown training ground as Ange Postecoglou put his players through their paces with Carlo Ancelotti’s star-studded Spaniards heading to Glasgow for the glamour game. However, Sky Sports report that while Kyogo was present, Swedish stopper Carl Starfelt wasn’t involved in the session.

The defender went off just before the hour mark against the Ibrox side and now looks set to miss out. Moritz Jenz replaced Starfelt and that could see him handed a start. Postecoglou is due to hold his official press conference at 3.15pm where he will confirm availability.
