Celtic star Kyogo appears to have settled speculation that he could be set for a return to Japan.
The Japanese striker told fans in his homeland yesterday that he plans on continuing to score goals in 'faraway places' for the foreseeable future.
The frontman, 29, was back at Vissel Kobe, as they took on Kawasaki Frontale.
He's been a huge success since his arrival from the J-League three years ago under Ange Postecoglou.
He's won three Scottish Premiership titles in a row, as well as winning the Scottish Cup twice, and the same for the League Cup.
He continued to impress under Brendan Rodgers despite Ange's departure for Spurs last summer, although, his less-than-vintage form during the 2023/24 campaign did lead to speculation that he could move on to pastures new.
Japanese big spenders, Urawa Red Diamonds, were believed to be interested in breaking their spending record for the Hoops talisman.
However, Kyogo himself has now appeared to distance himself from returning to the country of his birth.
He grabbed a megaphone to address both sets of supporters, despite having only previously turned out for Kobe.
With Kawaski trailing 1-0 at half-time, he told their supporters: "I think your voices are reaching the players. Please don't give up and cheer them on."
Onto Kobe, he added: "It's late, but congratulations on winning last season."
It was at this point Kyogo hinted he does not foresee a return to Japan any time soon.
The frontman signed off: "I will continue to score goals in faraway places so that I can reach everyone's eyes here, even if just a little."
Kyogo will return to Scotland later this month as Rodgers and his players reconvene for pre-season training.
They will take part in the Celtic USA Tour 2024 in July, where they will face DC United, Manchester City and Chelsea.
