Kyogo Furuhashi's miss in the Champions League for Celtic against Shakhtar Donetsk has been lamented by former Hoops midfielder Simon Donnelly.
Giorgos Giakoumakis opened the scoring in the Group F match before slotting in his fellow striker for a free shot at goal. His effort was tame and easily dealt with as he had the entire goal to aim at, and it proved costly as Mykhaylo Mudryk scored soon after. It settled a 1-1 draw between the club and eliminates Ange Postecoglou's men from Europe this season ahead of their final group match at Real Madrid next week.
Hoops favourite Donnelly is aware that to have success in Europe, chances like Kyogo's have to hit the net, after Celtic made it two points from five games this week. He told Clyde SSB: "It was tight. There wasn't a lot between the sides and I think Celtic created less chances than they have before.

"One falls to Giakoumakis and he takes it really well. The second falls to Kyogo and he has to do better. I don't think he thought he had as much time as he did.
"He rushed it. I think he could have taken a touch. It's the obvious one. We know he is capable. He missed a couple of chances against Motherwell last midweek where you would have expected him to score.
"But he popped up with a goal in the second half. It's easy for me to say but I think he rushed it. These are chances you have to take."
