Kyogo Furuhashi's move from Celtic to Rennes has gone far from how the Japanese striker may have anticipated so far.
The 30-year-old has struggled to find his feet in France, failing to score in any of his first three Ligue 1 appearances.
Jorge Sampaoli, who brought Furuhashi to Brittany, departed Rennes only a few days after he signed for the club, with Habib Beye now at the helm.
Under his stewardship, the centre-forward is yet to start and, indeed, came off the bench in a 4-1 hammering at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain this weekend.

Beye gave untested 17-year-old striker Mohamed Meite a first senior start ahead of Furuhashi in the match as the ex-Celt's frustration grows.
While Celtic didn't bring in a natural replacement for the attacker in the January transfer window, Daizen Maeda's subsequent conversion to play at centre-forward has bore fruit for Brendan Rodgers.
The 27-year-old has been in fine fettle since Furuhashi's departure and recently won the Scottish Premiership's February Player of the Month award.
Maeda's compatriot's move elsewhere hasn't worked out at all, and when recently speaking to Lemino Football (via Record), Furuhashi explained that while he isn't particularly happy at Rennes, he will soldier on.
He said: "If I get another chance, I would like to transfer, but I also want to stay here for a long time, and first of all, I want to work hard and overcome a difficult situation.
"I want to work hard until I'm 35. For now, until 35. I might get a serious injury, so I hope I can continue playing until 35 without any injuries."
