Brendan Rodgers has explained the reason behind Kyogo's lack of game time in Japan.
Celtic are currently enjoying their pre-season tour of Asia.
Kyogo is the star attraction back in his homeland, with Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate, and others also enjoying the limelight back in Japan.
However, Kyogo was limited to just a second-half substitute appearance against Yokohama F.Marinos on Wednesday, despite his star status on home soil.
And Rodgers has revealed that he's still carrying a slight issue with his shoulder injury.
The problem for the 28-year-old dates back to last season, when he seemed to pick up a few knocks on the area.
Last September he injured his shoulder after Celtic's stunning 4-0 win over Rangers. He then also hurt the same shoulder in February this year.
The injuries didn't keep him out of action for long though, missing just a couple of games.
It was unknown that Kyogo was still suffering from the issue.
But Hoops boss Rodgers has updated fans as to the reason why the club are being cautious over his game time in pre-season.
He said: "Kyogo has obviously been brilliant for Celtic. But he's still working his way back to fitness.
"He's had a bit of an issue with his shoulder hence the reason he only came on against Yokohama."
The game finished 6-4 to Yokohama earlier this week in a topsy-turvy encounter.
Maeda bagged a hattrick in the absence of Kyogo, while David Turnbull netted a stunner.
