Kym Marsh shares gorgeous family photo as she's applauded by ITV Corrie family after BBC Strictly elimination

Kym Marsh wowed with her impressive moves on Strictly Come Dancing and in sad scenes she became the 10th celebrity to be voted off the show after making it all the way to the quarter final. Kym was emotional as she was sent home on Saturday evening.

The former Coronation Street star, who played Michelle Connor from 2006 to 2019, faced CBBC star Molly Rainford in the dreaded dance-off on the BBC dance contest. Both couples performed their routines again after the dreaded light of doom landed on them after Friday's live show.

Molly and her celeb dance partner Carlos Gu performed their charleston to Hot Honey Rag from the musical Chicago. Then Kym and her dance partner Graziano Di Prima reprised their cha cha to Fame from the musical Fame in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.

I have to say, it’s all down to this man [Graziano] here, he is just wonderful and he will be my friend forever."

After her exit Kym shared her thanks with a heartfelt Instagram post showing her sharing a hug with Graziano in her Fame costume of purple tights and legwarmers and skimpy black sparkly pants and blue off-shoulder jumper. in the same Instagram post she also shared a gorgeous festive photo of herself surrounded by supportive family as they raised a glass to her time on the show.

She added: "I love you my beautiful family! Graziano you are now an honorary Marsh!! We love you. Thank you for the fun, the laughter and thank you for showing me that I am stronger than I think! Love you!!"

Followers including her Corrie co-stars rushed to applaud her. Georgia Taylor who plays Toyah Battersby said: "Darling you’ve been absolutely sensational Have loved watching you every week. You’re [flame emojis]." Paula Lane who played Kylie Platt congratulated: "Well done lovely! What an achievement xxxx" And Hayley Tamaddon who played the soap's Andrea Beckett exclaimed: "You were incredible!!"

Kym and Graziano missed performing the previous weekend after testing positive for coronavirus. Then her dad David, who is fighting incurable prostate cancer, was rushed to hospital during the week. Kym wiped away tears as she told host Tess Daly that her journey on the show had 'kept him going.'

On the support from her family, Kym said “My dad has been so proud and it’s kind of kept him going. When he was in hospital last week, and obviously we weren’t here, all these guys sent him videos and it meant such a lot. My grandchildren are so proud.”

When asked if he had any words for his partner, Graziano said: “I will be part of your family forever, I think we became friends from the very first day. I know you’ve learnt how to dance, but I have learnt so much from you, you are a warrior. You’re going to be in my heart forever, we’re going to be together many times, because I know I have found a friend for life."
