As excitement for this weekend’s 2025 Mardi Gras reaches fever pitch, we’re hearing rumblings about a spicy surprise appearance or two at the after party. Word on the sparkly street is that Aussie queer icons Troye Sivan and Kylie Minogue might just be unofficial guests this year!
The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras after party is an institution every year, with past guests including Cher, Dua Lipa, George Michael, Kylie Minogue, Dannii Minogue, Chaka Khan, Cyndi Lauper, Olivia Newton-John and Sam Smith.
An insider told PEDESTRIAN.TV that Troye and Kylie will be “popping up at the Mardi Gras after party unannounced”.
It’s unclear if they will be performing or just showing their faces but either way, breathing the same oxygen as two of Australia’s most iconic queer icons on gay Christmas is nothing short of a CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!
This year’s after party is being held at the Hordern Pavilion in Moore Park, kicking off from 10pm after the parade is over.
Headliners include Honey Dijon, Romy, Hayla, Leland (US) and Friends!. They’ll be joined by Cosmo’s Midnight, Fat Tony, Just Her, DJ Paulette, Alex Taylor, Amanda Louise, Atomic Kiss, Baby Ruin, Bria, Daws, DJ Hamo, ENN, Jawbreakers, Neesha Alexander, as well as the cast of the First Nations Show and the cast of the Mardi Gras Community Show.
Already a killer line-up as it is, right?
But if that’s not enough to sweeten the deal, surely an appearance from mom and dad — AKA Kylie Minogue and Troye Sivan — will have you racing to nab tickets.
