Kylie Minogue fans share concern over her new 'friendship' after popstar pictured with Conor McGregor

Fans of Australian popstar Kylie Minogue have expressed their concerns after she posted snaps alongside Conor McGregor at the Cannes Film Festival.

The singer shared images on Instagram of her posing alongside the UFC star and his wife Dee Devlin this week.

The 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' hitmaker was in France for the world premiere of Elvis, where she was pictured with the famous Irish couple.

Her post was captioned: "Awwww! Great to see you @thenotoriousmma @deedevlin1."

McGregor also posted on social media about the encounter, writing: "With the most beautiful, iconic @kylieminogue and @deedevlin1."

However, many Kylie fans were disappointed upon seeing the snaps, telling Minogue that she should be careful spending time with the controversial fighter.

McGregor has become known for appearing on the front pages as much as the back throughout his career, and has rubbed many up the wrong way with his brash antics on his way to stardom in the sport, as the Mirror UK reports.

While Minogue had the support of her sister in hanging out with McGregor, who wrote "Yasssss" underneath the picture, most fans were concerned for the singer.

One wrote "Kylie what is this? This isn’t you," while another added "Kylie is gorg [sic] but he’s… not the one."

A number of fans said that the pairing was "not it", and another wrote "get him away from her".

McGregor has been enjoying his time away from the octagon hobnobbing with celebrities as he works towards his return from a broken leg.

Last year he was pictured hanging out with Justin Bieber and 2 Chainz at his Los Angeles hotel, and even flew across America to present Bieber with a Video Music Award in New York.

Prior to his fight with Dustin Poirier last summer, the Irishman insisted that he was not a celebrity, declaring that it was a "mistake" to reference him as such.

He told Stephen A Smith of ESPN: "There's no celebrity, there's no fame - that thing is nada, nothing, not even on the radar of anything."
