Kylian Mbappe speaks out on 'new elements' amid Liverpool transfer rumours

Kylian Mbappe has said he could still stay at Paris Saint-Germain beyond the current campaign, despite speculation linking the forward with a move away from the club.

The Frenchman's contract at the Parc des Princes is poised to expire at the end of the season, potentially making Mbappe one of the most valuable free agents in football history.

While Liverpool are one of a number of high-profile clubs to have been linked with the 23-year-old sensation, Real Madrid have long been regarded as the front-runners for his signature. The Spanish giants saw an offer of £171 million turned down by PSG for Mbappe last summer, that despite his precarious contract situation.

Even with uncertainty over his future looming large, the PSG sharpshooter has continued to perform well. On Sunday he was magnificent in the 5-1 win over Lorient, netting twice and grabbing three assists to take his respective Ligue 1 total in each category to 17 and 13 for the season.

Mbappe was asked about his future after the game and seemed to indicate he has not yet made his decision, per Get French Football News.

"There are new elements, a fair amount of factors to take into account," he said. "Like I’ve said, it’s not an easy decision. I’m trying to make the best one along with those close to me."

When asked if he could agree a new contract with PSG, Mbappe said "yes, of course."

Liverpool arguably have the best collection of attacking talent in European football at the moment. Adding Mbappe to that stable of firepower would put the rest of the continent on notice.

The Reds spent big to sign Luis Diaz in January from Porto and the Colombian has provided exhilarating competition to the likes of Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
