Kylian Mbappe could be about to help Tottenham offload Tanguy Ndombele to Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports in France.
Tottenham are hoping to find a suitor for Ndombele before the January transfer window shuts and have identified PSG as a potential home for the midfielder.
Ndombele has been frozen out by Antonio Conte at Spurs and is currently training by himself as he awaits a move away from the Premier League club.
Spurs know they have no chance of recouping the club-record transfer fee of £55million that they paid Lyon in the summer of 2019.
The 25-year-old’s £200,000 per week wages are another issue when trying to shift a player who has two goals and one assist in 16 appearances this season.
However, PSG are keen to take the Frenchman on loan until the end of the season, with former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino a fan.
Pochettino signed Ndombele during his time in north London and is keen to add quality to his midfield, where Gini Wijnaldum has struggled to make an impact following his free transfer from Liverpool in the summer.
According to Foot Mercato , Ndombele has widespread dressing room support, with PSG’s star striker Mbappe and influential defender Presnel Kimpembe among those backing his arrival.
Pochettino has reportedly remained in regular contact with Ndombele from his Spurs days and has convinced sporting director Leonardo of his talent.
It is far from a done deal, however, with Napoli, Roma and Atletico Madrid all also interested in taking Ndombele off Tottenham’s hands.
Ndombele is under contract with Spurs until June 2025 but his agents are already in Paris to try and get a move to PSG over the line.
According to The Athletic , Tottenham struggled to find takers for Ndombele in the summer, when the midfielder expressed a desire to leave and hoped clubs like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich or Barcelona might show interest.

PSG appears a good fit for all parties now, considering Ndombele is from the Paris suburbs and the Ligue 1 leaders tried to sign him previously in 2020.
Conte was asked about Ndombele’s future in his press conference ahead of Spurs’ trip to face Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.
"Honestly, I prefer to speak about this topic always with the club," he said on Friday.
"For sure, I made evaluations about the squad but I have spoken with the club and I hope the club will listen to me."
Ndombele is highly unlikely to be involved today after being left out of the matchday squads for the last two games, against Leicester in the league and Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.
If he does leave in the coming week, his last appearance may well be in the 3-1 FA Cup win over Morecambe, when he was booed off the pitch by a section of Spurs fans when substituted.
He has contributed 10 goals and nine assists in 91 games for Spurs.
