Kylian Mbappe breaks silence on PSG exit rumours amid Liverpool transfer links

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has dismissed claims he is unhappy with the French side, amid rumours linking the 23-year-old with a move to Liverpool.

Reports last week suggested the forward wants a move away from the French capital as early as January. Mbappe has so far been in electric form for Christophe Galtier's side, finding the net 12 times in 14 appearances in all competitions.

Having been previously linked with a move to Real Madrid earlier this year, the former Monaco man signed a new deal to keep him at the Parc des Princes until 2025.

Mbappe has previously stayed silent on the reports, refusing to shut down the rumours linking him to Liverpool while others at PSG have denied them. The France international though has now insisted he has not made any demands to his club.

“I have not asked to leave Paris Saint-Germain in January. I’m not furious with the club, it’s not true”, began Mbappe, as he spoke to RMC Sport following his side's 1-0 win over Marseille on Sunday. ''I didn't understand why the story came out on the day of a game. I was as shocked as everyone. People can think I was involved but I wasn't at all."

Initial reports had surfaced after PSG's 1-1 draw with Benfica just last week. With both Lionel Messi and Neymar in fine goalscoring form so far this season, the Frenchman's future has often been brought into question.

Mbappe has been continually linked with a move away from Ligue 1, with the player having revealed he spoke to Liverpool before deciding to put pen to paper on a new deal at PSG.
