Kylian Mbappe and Neymar transfer admission will be music to Real Madrid ears

Ears at Real Madrid would have been pricked up this weekend after PSG boss Thomas Tuchel’s admission that he cannot promise whether Kylian Mbappe or Neymar will still be in Paris next season.

Interviewed by Sky Sports while attending the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday, Tuchel conceded that while he wants both players to stay, it would be naïve to promise they would.

"I am used to this…” he said. “Now it is May, the stuff that I say now might not be true next month.

"Things are like they are, there is a lot of speculation which means we have a lot of quality and talent.

"My wish as a manager and as a coach is clear, I want all my players to stay at PSG and stay with our project. The work is not finished, it has just started.

"My wish is clear, but I can't promise as that would be naïve and I don't want to be naïve in this business."

Both players have been linked with moves to Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively, speculation which lead to Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu ruling out a return for Neymar back in February.

Mbappe, you feel, would interest all of Europe’s top clubs.

Real Madrid, for one, are certainly keen on the French sensation, while a move for Neymar cannot be ruled out.

They were unable to put together a financial package to sign the France forward from Monaco in 2017 and he moved to PSG instead.

Mbappe remains one of Real’s top targets, and with Zinedine Zidane back at the helm to oversee what is expected to be a major summer rebuild, could they get finally their man this summer?
