The Arizona Cardinals have an offseason of change and uncertainty. They are looking for a new head coach but that new coach will have to deal with the absence of quarterback Kyler Murray, who tore his ACL and his meniscus in December.
The recovery time for the injuries can range from eight or nine months to a year.
Murray had successful surgery after the start of the new year, so his return for the start of the season is in doubt.
In fact, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, Murray is not going to push things. He will not rush to get back on the field unless his knee is right.
“My understanding is he’s going to take his time and make sure this thing is 100% right,” Rapoport said on NFL Network. “He is young. He’s got a long career. He’s not going to rush, so do not be surprised if we don’t see him to start the season or maybe even by the midway point. This injury has to heal perfectly.”
Whoever the new coach is for the Cardinals might have to maneuver a season with as much as more of half of it without his starting quarterback.
