There has been much discussion this offseason about Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, whether he is a good leader and whether he deserves a monster contract extension this offseason. There is no question about both things, according to Cardinals receiver Christian Kirk, who is about to become a free agent.
Kirk was approached by TMZ Sports and said Murray is deserving of a new deal.
“Kyler’s a special player,” he said. “There are few people that can do what he does. I believe he deserves everything he’s earned and that he has coming.”
Kirk also had nothing bad to say about Murray’s leader. When asked directly if Murray is a good leader, Kirk’s answer affirmative, and he had nothing but good things to say about how the quarterback is as a teammate.
“He’s a great friend of mine,” he said. “He’s always treated me well and his teammate around him well. Every time he steps on the field, he wants to win.”
When it comes to the locker room, those two things are what matter — does a player treat his teammates well and does he want to win?
For all that is being said about Murray’s body language, connection with teammates, leadership and maturity, it hasn’t been his teammates to raise questions about them.
