Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been urged to target Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker this summer so the Reds can permanently unleash Trent Alexander-Arnold in midfield.
With speculation over his future at fever pitch, England international Walker has been strongly linked with Bayern Munich after helping City win a historic treble last season. Liverpool are, tentatively, seen as alternative contenders for the 33-year-old as they continue their own recruitment drive.
After signing Alexis Mac Allister for an undisclosed fee, Klopp and key figures behind the scenes at Anfield will aim to snap-up at least one other midfielder this summer. However, adding competition and cover to the defensive unit is not beyond the question, either, with a left-sided central defender on their radar.
Depending on where Klopp wants to deploy Alexander-Arnold next term might also have an impact on any further plans. So what about Walker as a potential option?

City sold two players - Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus - to Arsenal last season. It means the precedent has been set with regards to doing business with their Premier League rivals.
Speaking to 888sport about his former side, Charlie Adam said: "I think playing Trent [Alexander-Arnold] in midfield is something Liverpool might want to look at. He's having a big impact on matches, as we saw for England.
"He's the best passer at the football club in terms of his range and what types of passes he can play. If you can get that from a central position, it opens up things for everybody else."
Adam continued: "If they're looking to do that, they'd need to bring another right-back in. It looks like Kyle Walker is possibly going to leave Manchester City - that's someone for me who they could try and have a look at. They'll need to bring a right-back in if they persist with Trent in midfield.
"I'd expect them to have at least one more midfielder in the building this window, too. But until a deal is done, you can only speculate. They've been linked with so many players this summer."
