Kyle Walker returns as Man City fans choose line-up to face Bayern Munich

Manchester City supporters are calling for Pep Guardiola to bring Kyle Walker back into the starting line-up for their Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich.

Walker, 32, has played just over half an hour of football since representing England over the international fortnight after being named as a substitute in each of City's last two Premier League matches.

The defender did not feature against Liverpool immediately after the break and only appeared as a second-half substitute at Southampton, replacing John Stones moments before Jack Grealish doubled the lead. It comes after Guardiola explained that the decision is tactical due to City using a 3-4-3 formation as of late.

Despite only starting two of the team's last seven matches across all competitions, City fans want a return to a four-at-the-back formation against Bayern that would facilitate Walker returning to the starting line-up. Manuel Akanji is the one who would drop out as a result, with Ruben Dias and John Stones playing centrally in front of Ederson and Nathan Ake moved out to left-back.

Elsewhere, the team remains unchanged from the last time out. The midfield three of Rodri, flanked by Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne, persists.

Further forward, Jack Grealish has another opportunity to continue his fine goalscoring form, with Riyad Mahrez also selected in support of Erling Haaland after a spectacular return to fitness against Southampton. Despite scoring as a substitute, Julian Alvarez will have to settle for further contributions from the bench.
