Nick Bosa’s status was in question right up until kickoff Sunday thanks to his extremely truncated preseason. His Week 2 availability is likely to be less ambiguous.
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan on Monday in a conference call said he expects Bosa to be a full go for Week 2.

We just wanted to take into account the recovery and things like that after. So, we were really happy to be able to get a win and play the way we did with reaching the play count or not exceeding the part that we had planned on. And hopefully he’ll spend these two days recovering. I’m sure he is going to be sore today, sore tomorrow just from doing that and hopefully he will be fresh enough to come out and start getting to go at practice Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.”
The day after the game may be a little more difficult than normal for Bosa since it was his first time getting hit since the NFC championship game in January.
However, given how well Bosa played in his 35 snaps it stands to reason that he’s trending toward playing without limitations in Week 2.
It might be smart for San Francisco to rotate him out for a couple extra snaps here and there vs. the Rams in Week 2 if they feel they can afford to have him miss a few plays. Getting him properly ramped up and staying healthy is key for the 49ers, but all signs point to Bosa being on track to get a full complement of snaps in Los Angeles.
