Kyle Edmund is through to the last 16 at the Shanghai Masters after defeating world no. 47 Andreas Seppi.
The British no.1 secured a 6-3 6-4 straight sets victory over the Italian but was put under pressure by Seppi in the first set as the players traded break of serve before the Englishman’s dominant groundstrokes eventually powered him home.
Edmund will now face Chilean Nicholas Jarry in the quarterfinal, which will be the first meeting between the two players.
