Kyle Dugger recognizes void left by Devin McCourty’s retirement

New England Patriots safety Kyle Dugger is ready to take on the challenge of the 2023 season, even though he knows the team will have a difficult time replacing Devin McCourty.

McCourty retired after 13 seasons with the organization, leaving a hole at the safety position. Now, Dugger will be tasked with providing a spark to a positional unit that includes the likes of Jabrill Peppers, Jalen Mills and Adrian Phillips. There will be no shortage of veteran experience, even with McCourty’s absence.

Although the positional unit is relatively deep, Dugger recognizes the importance McCourty had on the organization, as he recently told assembled media members.

Dugger will have an important role in 2023, as he looks to make a major impact in his fourth season. A successful year from Dugger would do wonders for not only the Patriots’ safety group, but the defensive unit as a whole.
