Kwon Hyeok-kyu to Celtic transfer 'confirmed' by manager

Celtic are set to complete the transfer signing of Kwon Hyeon-kyu.

The Parkhead club are tipped to seal a £1million move for the midfielder.

And Kwon's manager at Busan IPark has admitted the player is preparing to make his exit from South Korea.

Kwon played 54 minutes in the match against Seongnam today with his side falling to a 3-2 defeat.

And it could be his final appearance for the club with manager Park Jin-seop admitting before kick-off that the player is set to deaprt.

He explained: "It's unfortunate, but the player's future comes first, and growth comes first."

Celtic are also expected to announce the signing of Yang-Hyun-jun imminently after Gangwon confirmed his exit for Glasgow.

A social media post read: "Yang Hyun-jun to Celtic's transfer has been confirmed.

"Here is a greeting from player Hyun-jun Yang: After today's game everyone please stay with me until the end🧡"

It comes after Celtic enjoyed a 4-1 win over Portimonense in pre-season.

Brendan Rodgers' side took a comfortable victory in Portugal as Oh, Ben Summers, Liel Abada and Reo Hatate netted.

On the performance, Rodgers commented: “It was excellent. We have had a fantastic week.

“To finish it off with a decent performance and a good result for the guys is pleasing.

“Even though that is not the most important thing at this stage, I was really pleased.

“The heat has been sweltering here, but the intensity and some of the football was very good.

“Still a long way to go but yeah, I am really pleased."
