KV Oostende hoping Ewan Henderson can realise the promise he showed at Celtic

KV Oostende sporting director Nils Vanneste hopes Ewan Henderson can realise the promise he showed at Celtic following his move to Belgium.

The 23-year-old has left Hibs for a season-long loan at the De Kustboys as they chase promotion back to the top-flight.

Oostende also have the option to buy the playmaker for a six-figure fee next summer.

Henderson, who made the breakthrough at Celtic as a 17-year-old, has made 56 appearances for Hibs since joining in January 20222 but has only managed one outing this season.

But Vanneste hopes Oostende can bring out the best in Henderson.

He said: “At Celtic, Henderson was considered a very promising youngster.

“He showed great things, but the big breakthrough just didn't come. At Hibernian, which finished fourth in the last season, he played 30 times last season.

“He is a player who has to teach us the much needed dose of creativity.

"With his footballing ability and insight, he should be able to create opportunities for his fellow players. So he is the type of player we absolutely needed.”
