The Kuwaiti hospital in Rafah has reported receiving nine dead bodies in the last 24 hours on Friday, following intense Israeli strikes overnight. Among the deceased were a 9-year-old and a 15-year-old, as stated by the hospital on their official WhatsApp account.
Being the last operational hospital in Gaza after the evacuation order of eastern Rafah by Israel on Monday, the Kuwaiti hospital has been handling the influx of casualties. In addition to the fatalities, the hospital also received 17 injured individuals in the same time frame.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) mentioned that they are conducting a precise counterterrorism operation in specific areas of eastern Rafah. They targeted sites in Rafah that were used to launch rockets and mortars towards Israel, including the Kerem Shalom Crossing. IDF aircraft carried out strikes on these locations, and IDF troops were involved in close-quarters combat on the Gazan side of the Rafah crossing.
The situation in Rafah remains tense, with ongoing military activities and casualties being reported. The Kuwaiti hospital continues to play a crucial role in providing medical assistance to the injured and handling the aftermath of the conflict in the region.
