The Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al Sabah, stressed the need for cohesion among Kuwaitis to achieve reform, underlining the importance of national unity in protecting the country and facing challenges.
In his speech on the occasion of the last ten days of the blessed month of Ramadan, delivered on his behalf by Crown Prince Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al Sabah, and broadcast on state television, the Emir addressed the Kuwaitis, saying: “Your unity and high spirit are the most powerful weapon to preserve our dear homeland.”
He added that national unity was a fence that protects Kuwaitis and their country, and “a fortress against adversity and challenges.”
“You know that reform has steps and paths, and that it does not happen overnight. It will still require great effort, patience, solidarity and cohesion from a loyal and authentic people,” the Emir underlined.
He also affirmed that Kuwait would “remain an oasis of security and safety and a source of goodness and peace, always looking forward to more renaissance and progress, based on its Gulf and international role, along with its brothers and friends in various parts of the world.”
“We will spare no effort to protect the capabilities and gains of our beloved homeland, and we will not hesitate to make any decision that guarantees the country’s security and stability, in light of our genuine democratic approach, our sound constitution, and our ancient customs and norms,” the Emir concluded.
