Kuddly take on Oodie in latest Black Friday hooded blanket deals

Black Friday 2022 looks set to be the year of the hooded blanket, as shoppers snap up bargains to stay warm without turning the heating on.

Kuddly, one of the biggest and more premium names in the market, has just announced its deals for the shopping event and have undercut Oodie in the battle of the blankets. Oodie launched its Black Friday sale earlier this week, with the famed super thick, Instagram-famous hooded blankets in a range of cheery prints reduced by almost half their usual price.

But now Kuddly, the firm's main competitor, has launched its own Black Friday deals and it means shoppers wanting to buy two of the cosy blankets can do so for a £9 less than the best Oodie deal - but you'll need to use a special voucher code to get the price.

The standard price for Kuddly hooded blankets is £89 each, but the firm is offering £30 off one, taking the price down to £49. However, if you want to kit out the entire family - or sort some Christmas shopping - then you can get even better deals, with two Kuddly blankets reduced to £89 for a pair, while three is £109 or four is £129.

This means that if you can buy the biggest bundle, you'll get four £89 hooded blankets for just £32.25 each, a saving of more than £200. To take advantage of the deal, shoppers on the Kuddly site need to use the code BF22HB at checkout to get the reduced price.

While Kuddly doesn't have quite as many quirky prints as Oodie - which also has Harry Potter, Friends and Minecraft themed options - its deal is available in a range of colours, including a grey version with glow in the dark stars.

Shoppers keen to use the Black Friday deals to get the limited edition Oodie options instead can buy a pack of two or four, working out less than £50 each, or if you get six for £252 that works out at just £42 each, although it still works out as more than Kuddly's bundle price.

Google Trends shows that searches for hooded blankets has increased by a quarter since this time last year, as people try to come up with ways to stay warm and avoid turning on their heating in the face of lowering temperatures and increased energy costs.

As well as the premium brands offering big, fleecy, cosy hooded blankets to snuggle in through the winter, a host of high street dupes have been released allowing shoppers to stay warm in style without splashing quite so much money.

Amazon's hooded blankets may be slightly shorter than the Oodie or Kuddly, but they start at a considerably cheaper £9.99. An animal print version described as cosy and leaving shoppers feeling 'snug as a bug' which was originally £19 in Matalan is now available with an additional 20% off if shoppers use the code BLACKFRI20 at checkout.

Meanwhile, it may not look quite as thick as the premium equivalents, but if you want to make sure your legs are staying warm down to the ankle, Wowcher has this full-length version in five colours available reduced to £22.99 for Black Friday.
