KSP asking for tips on Clay County church fire

Kentucky State Police, the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and other agencies are investigating a fire that destroyed a Clay County church. According to the ATF, they were called to the Solid Rock House of Prayer in Manchester around 4 a.m. Wednesday. State Trooper Scottie Pennington:

“At this time, we don't have a whole lot of information. We don't think that the church itself was intentionally set on fire. We think there was an outbuilding that was kind of adjacent to the church that had no electricity, but a fire started in there.”

Pennington encouraged anyone with information about the fire to call the state police post in London at (606) 878-6622.

“You can remain anonymous. Any tip helps. It's kind of a sad day. You have a church that’s destroyed, people go there to worship on Sundays. And now they got to find another place for a while.”

On a GoFundMe page, Pastor Andrew Fultz wrote that his church has a small congregation and no insurance. As of late Thursday afternoon, more than $3,500 had been pledged to rebuild it.
