KSI will fight rapper Swarmz later this month after Alex Wassabi pulled out - and the news has gone down like a lead balloon.
British YouTuber KSI was due to make his ring return against fellow social media star Wassabi in London on August 27 in an attempt to avenge his brother Deji's defeat by the same opponent. But Wassabi suffered concussion in training and was forced to pull out with a month to go.
KSI was offered a fight by long-time rival Jake Paul but turned down the fight and later announced he will take on 25-year-old Swarmz, real name Brandon Scott. Swarmz has never fought before and knows KSI through their music careers and appeared alongside his fellow Londoner in his single Houdini.
Swarmz was a talented footballer in his youth and spent time at Fulham's academy before briefly plying his trade in non-league before quitting to focus on his music career. He has one million followers on Instagram but has made no comments about the fight.
Paul, meanwhile, wasted no time in criticising KSI's choice of opponent. "This is absolutely absurd, what KSI just did there, he is fighting one of his friends," he said on Instagram. "Talk about getting paid to take a dive; he is fighting a rapper who is his friend, the've made songs together, who has never fought before.
"The dude has a t-shirt on in the fight poster, they don't even have a picture of this guy shirtless, what the f*** is going on? This event should be free, even KSI's fans are saying what is going on, they want to sell their tickets to the event.

"This is what I'd expect from you KSI, you taking an easy fight, an easy way out, your friend who is going to take a dive. This event should be free otherwise you're f***ing your fans over." Boxing fans were also unhappy with the announcement, with one saying: "This fight really got me feeling hype to kind of a let down, all in the span of 48 hours."
Another added: "I’m going to be honest, I am a fan of KSI and his career but this fight now seems bad especially since KSI and Alex had beef and the story for the fight was good. No disrespect to Swarmz but I don’t really know who he is and I feel like it’s a bit of an easy cheap fight for KSI."
