KSI reveals how Wayne Rooney got hands on stash of Prime for son's 7th birthday after Coleen's Instagram snap comes under fire

Wayne Rooney used his celebrity contacts to get his hands on multiple bottles of the popular hydration drink Prime. The former Manchester United and England footballer helped celebrate his son's birthday earlier this week and paid a sweet tribute on social media.

Sharing snaps of Kit following in his dad's footballing footsteps as well as one of them together on a beach, Wayne typed: "Happy 7th Birthday Kit. Have the best day. Love you mate." Wife Coleen, meanwhile, shared a photo of the birthday set-up she and Waye had prepared ready for their son's special day.

The proud mum-of-four took to Instagram on Tuesday (January 24) to share a glimpse at Kit's special birthday celebrations as he woke up to a huge pile of wrapped presents - with what appeared to be his own face on the wrapping paper, a colourful balloon display, and a towering Sour Patch Kids sweets.

Coleen shared an adorable snap of her middle son stood posing in front of the display as she paid tribute to him. As the youngster posed stood in front of all of his gifts, the 34-year-old penned: "Happy 7th Birthday to my Kit Roo. I love you so much. Have the best day xxx"

But fans couldn't help but have their eyes drawn to a stash of the viral Prime drinks that were also included in the array of gifts and pile of sweets. Coleen, who also shares sons Kai, 12, Klay, 9, and Cass, 4, with husband Wayne, was quickly flooded with birthday wishes for her son while others were stunned by the hard-to-get Prime stash with the WAG coming under fire.

@jayneh05 said: "As if a 7 year old needs all those Primes! I wouldn’t embarrass myself even putting a picture up of them ! But Happy Birthday anyway." @howespenny wrote: "Rather sad to see an energy drink (the "Prime") constituted a "birthday gift"?!" @maddie_thomas1 commented: "Lol…. The prime drinks! Such a waste of money but what every kid wants more than anything else at the minute. Happy birthday Kit!" @janlobban1967 posted: "When is bottles of prime a birthday present."

Others, however, defended the celebrity parents. @victoria_lou27 replied: "Happy Birthday Kit! have the best day! For all the haters, leave the kid alone. People jumping to assumptions as per! Your a great mum and don’t let anyone ever tell you different." @janey_pritchard added: "You’ll be the best mum ever with them Prime. Happy Birthday to your Kit x."

Now, KSI, who has created the drink alongside fellow YouTuber and boxer Logan Paul, has revealed just how Wayne got his hands on the sought-after drink. Speaking at the launch of his documentary, the singer, whose real name is Olajide Olayinka Williams 'JJ' Olatunji, was quizzed on his popular product.

He told The Sun: "I sorted that out for him – Wayne Rooney hit me up. I sent him a bunch, but even I run out. I drink a lot of it and a lot of people ask me for it so I am always giving my own stash away."
