YouTube star KSI told Deji to agree to all of Floyd Mayweather's demands to ensure their fight went ahead.
Content creator Deji touched gloves with boxing legend Mayweather in Dubai last weekend, but came up short being stopped in the sixth round of the exhibition. YouTube star KSI was present in the Middle East to support his brother, and was backstage helping him go through his final preparations for the clash.
The fight was in jeopardy just hours before the event with a row erupting over the size of the fight gloves, having initially agreed to compete in 14oz mitts. However after the pair finally agreed to take the challenge in 10oz gloves, the fight went ahead as planned.
KSI, who was backstage during the heated dispute, has revealed that he asked Deji his reasons for fighting Mayweather and ensured they were at the front of his mind before agreeing to the new rules. "I feel like Deji could have done way more," KSI said when describing the pre-fight situation on his YouTube channel.
"Obviously the whole situation with the gloves was a bit annoying. But you know I asked him during this whole thing, why do you want to fight Floyd Mayweather? Is it for your legacy or is it to be in the ring with one of the greatest of all-time. Who cares if it is 14oz or 10oz? F** it fight in 8oz. Have a go and do the impossible.
"F***ing knock out Floyd Mayweather. That is my mindset. I am there like allow just being the person to survive with Floyd Mayweather. I want to be the guy who beats Floyd Mayweather. I want to be the only guy to beat him, but anyway it is what it is. I though Floyd was having too much fun with it, he was doing pads during the break. It was taking the p***, it was borderline disrespectful and I hated it."

Mayweather was also angered by the presence of Deji's former opponent Jake Paul who was ringside for the event and refused to enter the arena until he left. This further delayed the event, but it eventually got underway with Deji struggling with the relentless pace set by the 47-year-old.
KSI now believes he could be the man to avenge his brother's defeat and even admitted he wanted to get in the ring himself with the former champion. "I hated it," he continued. "I wanted to get in that ring and f*** Floyd up. It's infuriating to see Deji losing to someone I know he could beat. I know you're gonna be like, 'There's no way Deji could beat Mayweather,' but I feel like I could beat Mayweather."
