KSI mocks Jake Paul after Hasim Rahman Jr fight is cancelled following Tommy Fury decision

KSI has said that the news that Jake Paul and Hasim Rahman Jr's fight has been cancelled is 'nothing important' after Rahman Jr pulled out after reportedly being unable to make weight for their fight.

The British YouTuber, also known as JJ Olatunji, is in the process of promoting his own return to the ring which sees him take on Paul's friend Alex Wassabi on August 27. Responding to the news, KSI pretended to have missed the news, deciding to promote his own fight instead and describing the cancellation as 'probably nothing important'.

A statement from Paul's promotional company read: "Alrighty folks, emergency press conference,' he said. 'You may have seen the news Hasim Rahman Jr. has pulled out of the fight, this is not a joke.

"I am devastated. I cannot f*****g believe this. We just found out this news.

"This is just another case of a professional boxer, just like Tommy Fury, being scared to fight me. It's as clear as day that these guys have been so unprofessional to work with, looking for any excuse to such more money out of this event. To coerce us into doing things.

"And from the jump I knew from the bottom of my heart that this guys didn't want to get into the ring with me it's as clear as day."

KSI made a jibe about the cancellation as he praised new business partner and Jake's brother Logan Paul's recent appearance on summer slam, saying: "Logan Paul absolutely smashed SummerSlam. I’m super proud of him," he wrote before adding: "We also have a HUGE Sidemen Sunday video coming out today. Over 20million views on Sidemen Tinder and I honestly believe this video coming out today could get similar if not more views… Still feel like I’m missing something big though…"

He said: "I feel there’s something big that I’m missing but ah well it’s probably nothing important," he added. "Anyway get your tickets to see me KO boring Alex this August 27."

Paul had been originally scheduled to fight Fury, before the former Love Island star withdrew for a second time last month due to reported visa issues. He was replaced by a former sparring partner of the 25-year-old YouTuber and heavyweight Rahman Jr in an event which was set to take place at Madison Square Garden on August 6.

However, some have claimed that this was not the reason, with poor ticket sales being cited as the reason for the cancellation, with UFC president Dana White claiming as such. He said: 'I think they sold under $1million in tickets and it costs $500,000 to turn the f***ing lights on at MSG,' he said.

'That's what I think. Not to mention hotel rooms in New York and transportation is very expensive.'
