KSI makes Floyd Mayweather KO claim as YouTube boxer looks for next fight

KSI has claimed that he could knockout Floyd Mayweather, if the pair were to step into the ring together.

The YouTuber and rapper has also carved out a career as a celebrity boxer. KSI has walked to the ring on seven occasions for a mix of amateur, exhibition and professional bouts, amassing a combined record of 6-0-1 (1 NC). His most recent exhibition with Joe Fournier ended in controversy after the head of Misfits Boxing saw his stoppage victory overturned to a no contest due to an accidental elbow.

During the event in May, KSI faced off with Tommy Fury, leading many to believe that it would be the next big-money fight in this boxing niche. However, the YouTuber has given his thoughts on a potential bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr. The matchup is not as far-fetched as it seems either, as ‘Money’ recorded a stoppage win over KSI’s brother Deji last November.

“Honestly, I think I'd knock him out," KSI said. “I honestly think I have a great chance at beating him. Mayweather, he's a good fighter, I just think I'll have the timing on him.”

However, the YouTuber did confess that he would have had no hope during Mayweather’s initial 50-0 run. "Obviously in his prime I would have no chance,” he admitted.

The five-weight world champion’s last professional bout came against Conor McGregor in 2017 and Mayweather has since appeared in seven exhibition bouts, which have included influencers Logan Paul and Deji, as well as former Geordie Shore star Aaron Chalmers.

Speaking in March, Mayweather outlined his plans to tour the globe in a series of exhibitions, having taken on John Gotti III in Florida this month, with the 46-year-old targeting events in South Korea, Germany, Japan and Australia before the end of the year.

"This is what my 2023 looks like so far," Mayweather said on Instagram, "Five exhibitions in five countries in nine months. And if any of these exhibitions don’t happen, I still get paid. I’m the most active hustler in boxing, my money is guaranteed."
