Prime Hydration energy drinks are being sold for some eye-watering prices, with packs listed on eBay going for as much as £10,000.

The drinks, endorsed by YouTube influencers KSI and Logan Paul, have grown in popularity online recently with their new drinks flying off the shelves.

The drinks are being sold at £2 a bottle but due to their popularity among teenagers, some retailers are significantly marking them up.

The GazetteLive reported numerous young teenagers queuing up outside an Asda supermarket to buy the drinks.

One shopkeeper is reportedly charging up to £15 a bottle and defended his decision after some retailers had sold out of the drinks.

Another shop worker in Worcester has also capitalised on the new craze by flogging bottles at £8 instead of the recommended retail price of £2.

It would seem teenagers cannot get enough of them and they are sold out within minutes of being restocked.

Who are KSI and Logan Paul?

Olajide Olayinka Williams “JJ” Olatunji, better known as KSI (standing for Knowledge Strength and Integrity) is a British YouTuber and rapper.

Logan Paul is an American social media personality and professional wrestler.

Their mega influence among the younger market has led to them capitalising on their fame.

The pair decided to launch their new energy drink in the hope of rivalling the likes of “Pepsi, Coke, Gatorade and Powerade”.

The energy drinks market has proved to be highly lucrative over the years. It is expected to generate a revenue of $65.53 billion (£56.56 billion) by 2028.

“It’s always sold out, man. Honestly, people are selling it on the black market,” KSI explained during an episode of The Fellas podcast on why the drink was so difficult to purchase.

He added: “Then people are making p’s from it because you can’t get it anywhere. It’s not like we’re not supplying enough, we’re supplying loads.”

Prime is currently available in Asda stores across the UK. The retailer has warned that stocks are very low, however.

Some supermarkets have had to impose limits for those buying the drink.
