KSI All Face Former Footballer Wayne Bridge In His Next Fight

KSI has confirmed his return to the boxing ring, with the 31-year-old going head to head with former Premier League footballer Wayne Bridge.

Wayne Bridge vs KSI Fight

Wayne Bridge will make his boxing debut this year, with KSI reportedly agreeing to fight the former Manchester City, West Ham and Chelsea star in 2025.

As well as his time in the Premier League, Bridge is also known for making 36 appearances for England and appearing on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here in 2016.

It is still unknown when KSI will take on Bridge but an announcement is reportedly on the horizon with all parties agreeing to the deal. There is a chance the bout could take place on an upcoming Misfits undercard for Darren Till vs Anthony Taylor.

Bridge is 44-years-old but he does have experience in the boxing ring, having fought Spencer Matthews in a celebrity charity match in 2018. Bridge won the event but KSI is a very different proposition to Made In Chelsea star Matthews.

KSI on the other hand hasn’t fought since losing to Tommy Fury at the end of 2023, with ‘the Nightmare’ taking a year away from boxing last year to focus on building his Misfits boxing profile.

Bridge is following in the footsteps of another former Premier League star as he joins Misfits Boxing, after Danny Simpson stepped into the ring last year.

Simpson’s fight against YouTuber Danny Aarons went all the way to the judges, with a controversial split decision made after four rounds.

Big Year Ahead For KSI

Speaking at the end of 2024, KSI’s manager Mams Taylor revealed that big things were coming for the boxer in 2025, having taken a year away from the ring.

“KSI will fight three times this year.” Taylor said. “Fight 1 will be a great surprise and very interesting. Fight 2 and 3, if people are worried we will take the same route as Jake…

“He will not be fighting retired MMA fighters, these will be serious opponents. It will be epic and I can’t wait to announce it all, but for now focus will be on fight one and his huge comeback.”

The confirmation of Bridge as KSI’s next opponent will raise eyebrows for some, as it is hard to consider the former footballer as a ‘serious boxer’.
